Happy New Year everyone!
Its January so that that means its time of year to look at healthy eating. Healthy eating can mean different things to different people, low carb, keto, vegan etc so the first thing we have to do is define what we mean.
At Castlerea House, we have chosen two areas of healthy eating we want to focus on, a healthy heart and managing/avoiding diabetes.
I have included links to two useful articles, one from the British Heart Foundation regarding a diet for a healthy heart and one from the British Dietetic Association regarding a diabetic friendly diet.

Once you have read them, follow the next set of links to two websites packed full of recipes, again, one is for heart healthy meals and one for diabetic friendly meals.

What I would like you all to do is to look through these websites and chose one recipe from each that you think our residents would like. I will be speaking to you all individually when I am back in, in the meantime, let Linda know what you have picked, and she will put it on the menu for next week.
Thanks
James
